I
am an independently licensed therapist and the Director
of Chemical Dependency Services at Psych & Psych.
My educational background includes a Bachelor of
Arts Degree in Psychology from Bowling Green State
University, and a Masters Degree in Social Science
Administration from The Mandel School of Applied
Social Sciences at Case Western University. As part
of my education and training experience, my internships
were completed at the Youngstown Veterans Administration
Outpatient Clinic and a psycho-social rehabilitation
program in Cleveland.
Experiences within my career thus far encompass a broad spectrum of settings.
I have worked as a therapist in outpatient mental health and chemical dependency
facilities, inpatient psychiatric units, specialized programs designed for the
substance abusing or addicted chronically mentally ill, and provided independent
consulting for nursing homes. I have also functioned in supervisory roles in
these settings, as well as for the Youth Advocate Program in Pennsylvania. Additionally,
I have spent several years providing EAP services in both Lorain and Cuyahoga
counties.
At Psych and Psych I provide a variety of services including assessments, individual
therapy, group therapy, and administration and supervision. My areas of competence
are in both mental health and chemical dependency disciplines. Areas of specialization
are depression, anxiety, codependency, addictions, and eating disorders, body
image issues; with my approach to treatment being primarily cognitive behavioral.
