Biography

Dr. Christy McCrone is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Supervisor.  She joined Psych and Psych Services as a part-time counselor in 2021.  Dr. McCrone earned her Master of Clinical Psychology from Ohio University and her Doctor of Philosophy in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Akron.  She has over 20 years of experience providing therapy to clients of all ages (children, adolescents, and adults) and ability levels. Dr. McCrone combines Person-Centered therapy with Cognitive Behavior Therapy.  She completed training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) as well.  Dr. McCrone has experience treating a variety of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma, and schizophrenia.  One of her passions is serving individuals with autism and/or intellectual disabilities.  She provides services in a warm, collaborative space built with mutual respect and compassion.
