Biography

Matthew Welich, LPCC

Outpatient Therapist

Matthew R. Welich is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) who works exclusively with adults (18+) in individual and couples counseling. He offers a warm, grounded, and collaborative space where clients feel supported while also gaining practical tools for change.
 

Matt has a three-prong approach to counseling:

1) Person-centered Therapy (PCT) – to build, strengthen, and sustain the therapeutic relationship

2) Motivational Interviewing (MI) - to help clients make difficult decisions and achieve/maintain sobriety

3) Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) - helps clients identify, challenge and replace rigid/irrational beliefs with flexible/rational beliefs to reduce emotional disturbance and improve behaviors
 

In addition to his counseling theories:
 

Matt is a practicing Catholic Christian who offers Christian Counseling to both Catholics and Protestants who are interested in working from a biblical point of view.
 

Matt is also in recovery from alcoholism, utilizing 12-step principles to help clients secure/sustain long-term sobriety.
 

Matt is dedicated to helping clients move toward clarity, growth, and self-acceptance.
